Media & Business Launch
The launch event took place on the 16 September 2010 at the International Convention Center in Durban, with the guidance from many industry leaders showcasing their expertise in order to skill those less priviledged.
The creative genius of designers, the ICC caterers, hair stylists and models added to the beautiful venue at the ICC foyer being converted into a night for the stars. The highly publicized event that had an amazing turnout from those that have supported the programme and many who have seen or even heard of the Saris for Good Karma initiative esured the project had a great start.
The initiative had two creative elements, the first being the auctioning of photographic art which were all pictures of the Bayview community and landscape, and the second being the fashion show. Loop photography and Assegai & Javelin created masterpieces from photographs taken in the community, reworked on canvas and sold on auction for the cause.
Both these items are on sale on our site. Please visit ‘Your Contribution- Purchase Products’
A cd was made by Natalie Rungan about and for the ladies from this initiative
The fashion show showcased rich finishes and details in the innovative sari designs, bringing out luxe fabrics from second hand saris , creating layers and frills to have any woman going crazy for just one dress. The fashion show had community members and popular celebrities in awe of the raw talent we have in our back yard.
All saris were donated by Indian women who have made a credible name for themselves in various fields.

A consciousness movement is borne…
- As the world grows more aware and more conscious, the plight of the poor, the effects of recession, the down turn in great economies of the world has forced us all to take stock.
- People everywhere are starting to feel as though they need to give back to life, no matter how small or in any way.
- The butterfly effect really is a possibility and it starts with YOU!
- There is only one way, we can all go…
